Shipsy, a software-as-a-service logistics platform that enables data driven decision making enhancing visibility and operational efficiency for Supply Chain industry, has raised $6 million in a Series A funding round.
The funding round was led by Surge, the accelerator programme of Sequoia Capital India, and existing investor Info Edge (India) Ltd.
The startup will utilise the current financing to fuel expansion, invest in product development.
Founded in 2015 by Dhruv Agrawal, Himanshu Gupta and Soham Chokshi, Shipsy enables organizations to capture more & better quality data and help them utilize it to become a data-driven organization.
Commenting on the startup, Soham Chokshi, said, “The platform helps shippers to reduce freight costs by automating and digitising freight negotiations, reducing incidental charges, significantly improving shipping turnaround time and minimising working capital loss.”
“The product has seen great adoption from large Indian as well as overseas corporates with significant cost reduction for them,” Info Edge founder and executive vice-chairman Sanjeev Bikhchandani said.
“Our Logistics Visibility & Control Tower platform handles over 1 million transactions on a daily basis, and provide real-time customized views to operation managers, strategy team, business managers on the activity of field workforce throughout the country covering regions like Arunachal Pradesh, J&K, Andaman etc.,” according to the company’s LinkedIn page.
The company says it has over 120 enterprises as clients, including large quick-service restaurant (QSR) chains and five of the top 10 exporters in the country.
