Direct-to-consumer Ayurveda brand The Ayurveda Co has raised Rs 100 crore in Series A funding round for expanding offline presence, improving product manufacturing, expanding research and development and accelerating digital awareness around the company, according to ET Bureau report.
The funding round was led by venture capital fund Sixth Sense Ventures. The round also saw participation from actress Kajal Agarwal, a few notable startup founders and venture debt funds, the company said in a statement.
“This Series A funding is a significant milestone for TAC and will enable the company to further its mission of bringing Ayurvedic wellness to a wider audience, especially millennials and the Gen Z to make Ayurveda mainstream,” said Shreedha Singh, co-founder & CEO.
The company claims to have grown over 300% over the past 10 months, driven by a portfolio of 100 unique products backed by an omnichannel distributor network across over 20 exclusive brand outlets and over 5,000 retail touch points. It also has a strong online presence.
The firm said it has also recently forayed into global markets, starting with the Middle Eastern region with its Dubai launch.
TAC was founded by Singh and Param Bhargava in 2021. It has products for skincare, haircare, natural makeup, as well as for wellness. The startup said in the statement that it is also planning to integrate and automate ‘dosha’ consultation-based personalised skin, hair and wellness routines.
