Citigroup Inc. is planning to hire 2500 IT professionals this year to augment up its team of traders and investment bankers, coders and data scientists in an attempt to technologically reshape the business.
As per a Bloomberg report, the new roles will be for locations across the globe like London, New York, Shanghai, Toronto, Dublin, Tel Aviv, Pune, Chennai, and Tampa.
Stuart Riley Global Head of Institutional Client Group (ICG) Technology and Operations at Citi said in an interview at Citigroup’s Canary Wharf office in London that “The hiring reflects what we are building in technology and why we are focused on making salespeople and traders more effective at servicing our clients”
