Philippines-based home services platform GoodWork recently announced that it has raised $1.6 million in seed funding. The funding round was led by US-based Chaac Ventures.
According to a company statement, clutch of angel investors from Facebook and Snapchat along with other US investment funds such as Elysium Ventures and Kairos K50 also participated in the round.
Founded by Andrew Koger, the startup offers a wide variety of home services such as home cleaning, laundry delivery, and maintenance repairs. With the Covid-19 pandemic, the company has also added special disinfection cleaning services to its offerings.
It also helps small scale businesses and gig workers to transform their businesses by going online and find new customers.
GoodWork said that it will be using the fresh capital to fuel its growth and expand across Southeast Asia. It also looks to make additional hires over the next 12 months to support its plans.
With the rapid growth of mobile internet penetration and e-commerce spending in the Philippines, the company said that it sees great growth potential in building a platform specialized for the services economy.
