Sanjeev Nandan Sahai, a senior IAS officer, has been appointed for the new power secretary replacing Subhash Chander Garg, who had sought voluntary retirement after being shunted out from the post of finance secretary soon after the budget was passed by Parliament. Currently, Sanjeev is serving as special secretary in the Ministry of Power.
In other appointments, Pankaj Kumar, additional secretary in the ministry of electronics and information technology, will be the CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which issues Aadhaar.
