Bank of Baroda to hire 4000

Banking sector specially PSUs seem to be having plans for aggressive hiring in 2012. 

Bank of Baroda plans to hire about 4,000 employees in the officers and clerks cadre in coming year. This has been expressed to media by its Chairman and Managing Director, Mr M. D. Mallya.

The hiring’s are supposed to cater to branch expansion as well as to meet the replacements against the retiring staff. The bank also plans to open about 500 branches in 2012.

In the Banking Sector, amongst PSU’s – Punjab National Bank would also be recruiting management trainees and probationary officers to fill up about 700 vacancies.

These recruitments would be on the basis on a common written exam being conducted by the Institute of Banking Personal Selection.

Hiring’s against replacement of retired staff would be creating a good chunk of jobs in the PSU’s. This has been observed the case of other PSU’s as well – Refer to the report on Coal India’s hiring plans.
