Employee Connect Program

As a part of employee connect program selected employees are asked to invite their family to the factory premises. During the visit, the family members are shown around, they are acquainted with the work place and they get to feel the work environment.

The concerned employees are encouraged to introduce the family members to their colleague and others at the workplace.  As a part of the visit, the entire family has a lunch with the Plant Head. During the lunch they get an opportunity to discuss professional as well as personal issues.

Finally, and the end of the visit the family is given a gift as a token of appreciation.

This initiative involves the family of the employee, and is able to communicate an employers focus on not just the employee but his entire family.  During the visit the family is able to see the workplace, meet the employees  colleagues and team members. They get to understand the organization better and the fact that the organization respects the importance of family and personal life.  

Such an approach can have a positive impact on the morale and motivation  of the employee. The initiative also allows the manager, colleagues and plant head to interact with the family members thereby giving them a better understanding of the employees family, and his personal life. All this can also serve as a good platform for community building.

If you dig deeper on the company S.C.Johnson, you will realize that the company is one of those few global corporations which is quite obsessed with the usage of the word “family”.  Their brand tag line says – a family company, and they are consistent at leveraging their “family” association to engage with their customers as well. Check out the family section on their web site.  For those who are unable to connect with the name S.C.Johnson, we are sure you can recall some of their best selling brands in India  – All Out, Mr. Muscle, Glade etc.
