Are you looking for ways to make your employees feel good about your organization ? Are you looking for some kind of internal brand building exercise or an internal employer branding initiative ?
I have some suggestions. You can keep these in consideration while planning your initiatives.
1. Speak out the organizations growth story.
Let people know – “what the organization is all about ?” and let them hear the story from the promoters / founders / big bosses. Let them learn, how the company started, how it was built and how it grew over a period of time. Now, its not necessary that every company has an exciting growth story. Your organizations promoter, founder and the big bosses who have seen the growth story need to do the talking, and ensure appropriate anecdotes, interesting incidents etc. are highlighted to make the growth story engaging and interesting.
2. Share the future growth plans, strategies for growth.
Communicate frequently and ensure that the channels of communication are open and clear. It’s helps build engagement if an employee clearly understands that he has some definite relevance in the organization and he/she is also adding value.
3. Do a dipstick, talk to the employees to see what’s missing and what can be better.
It makes sense to look for a solution once we have the problem clearly defined. You can further plan your interventions and initiatives based on the finding(s) of your dipstick.
Note: I had written the above in response to question on a LinkedIn group.
