On the occasion of 71st Republic Day, the Government of India announced the list of prestigious Padma Awards naming 118 people as recipients. Among these awardees, 11 business leaders were also honored for their contribution to the trade and industry of the country. The recipients are eminent personalities from fields of art, trade and industry, literature and education, sports, entertainment, public affairs, and social work among others.

TVS Group Chairman Venu Srinivasan – Padma Bhushan,
Info Edge Founder Sanjeev Bikchandani – Padma Shri,
Fairfax Financial Holdings Founder and Chairman Prem Watsa – Padma Shri,
VRL Group Chairman Vijay Sankeshwar – Padma Shri,
Tally Solutions MD Bharat Goenka – Padma Shri,
Symphony Technology Group Founder and Chairman Romesh T. Wadhwani – Padma Shri,
Surya Roshni Chairman Jai Prakash Agarwal – Padma Shri,
Bilakhia Holdings Chairman Gafurbhai M. Bilakhia – Padma Shri,
Rimo Expeditions Founder Chewang Motup Goba – Padma Shri,
and Prestige Group Chairman Nemnath Jain – Padma Shri.
Announcing the list on twitter, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi congratulated all the awardees for their contribution to nation-building.
