Cognizant to augment its campus in Kochi: Cognizant, is expanding its operations in Kerala by leasing 15 acres of land at the Kochi Infopark campus. When fully completed, Cognizant’s new campus in Infopark Phase II will have the capacity to accommodate around 12,000 professionals.
The first phase is being built at a cost of approximately Rs 250 crore and will consist of a 5.5 lakh sq ft. software development block, which will accommodate over 4,000 professionals. Cognizant at present has over 1,500 professionals working from the first phase of Kochi Infopark.
IT Companies plan investment in West Bengal: The country’s biggest IT companies, Infosys and Wipro have decided to pump in nearly 2000 crores in IT and BPO projects which will create job opportunities for 35,000 in Kolkata by 2015.
Infosys would be setting its first software campus in Kolkata, while Wipro is on its way to expand its existing campus in Kolkata. Infosys is planning to invest around 1000 crores in a software venture that would create nearly 20,000 jobs. On the other hand, 800 crore will be invested by Wipro in its second software campus.
