Zomato might acquire UberEats

According to numerous media reports, Indian food delivery start-up Zomato is set to acquire the Indian operations of Ubereats, Uber’s food ordering and delivery platform. The deal is likely to close by the end of this year. According to reports, Uber will invest $150 – $200 million in Zomato after the deal.

Earlier this month, CEO of Zomato, Deepinder Goyal said that the startup is seeking to raise about $600 million in a new funding round. 

As of now there has not been any official confirmation from either companies.

UberEats was launched in 2017 and is available in 40 cities across India, while Zomato provides its services in 24 countries and 10000+ cities globally with about 100 million active users.
