Airtel appoints Rajiv Sharma as Head – Investor Relations, succeeds Komal Sharan

Bharti Airtel Limited (Airtel) announced the appointment of Rajiv Sharma as Head of Investor Relations with effect from 1 October, 2021. He takes over from Komal Sharan, who is moving to a new role within Bharti group.

In his new role, Rajiv would report to Badal Bagri, Chief Financial Officer (India and South Asia), Airtel. Rajiv will be responsible for ensuring that Airtel is appropriately represented with investors, lenders, equity partners, and financial institutions, the statement said.

Commenting on the appointment, Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO (India and South Asia), Airtel said: “We are delighted to have Rajiv onboard. I am confident his rich experience and deep understanding of the telecom industry will add immense value to our engagement with the investor and financial community. I wish him the very best in his role and look forward to working closely with him.”

Rajiv is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 18 years of experience in Capital Markets, Corporate Strategy, Consulting, IPOs, Fund raising and Equity Research. He joins Airtel from Spark Capital Advisors where he was Director – Investment Banking & Head – Digital Research. Prior to that he worked with organisations such as SBICAP Securities, HSBC and PWC.

Rajiv holds an MBA with specialization in Finance from ICFAI, Hyderabad, a certification from Wharton School on Strategic Thinking and Leadership and is also a Certified Personal Coach from ICF. He is passionate about helping start-ups and works with first-time entrepreneurs as a mentor.
