Aloke Singh takes charge as CEO of Air India Express

Aloke Singh, the new CEO of Air India Express, takes charge at the airline’s corporate headquarters in Kochi. Prior to this role, Singh was associated with an aviation advisory and consulting firm in New Delhi.

Singh has three decades of diverse experience in air transport and travel with leadership roles in Air India, Alliance Air and a Gulf-based national carrier, a press release said.

Singh holds an MBA from the Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, and has attended the London School of Economics on a Chevening Fellowship.

Singh left Air India in 2014 to join Oman Air, where he was Chief Officer Network Planning. Singh returned to India in 2016 to co-found OpenSky Resorts, and later joined aviation consultancy firm CAPA.

In his first address to Air India Express employees, Singh said he was privileged to be a part of an iconic institution and a great team. Though it was a challenging time for the industry and the airline, he felt confident that the organisation had the resilience and capacity to overcome the crisis.

Air India Express is a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India Limited. It operates more than 550 flights per week connecting India to Middle East and Singapore.
