Google Cloud recently announced the appointment of former NetApp top executive Anil Valluri as Senior Director for the India unit of Google Cloud. Valluri is the recent hire by the internet giant for its cloud business expansion in India.
Google Cloud India had earlier in March roped in industry veteran Karan Bajwa as the Managing Director and later in May appointed former Microsoft executive Anil Bhansali as Vice President of the company.
Google Cloud India has been aggressively pushing for hiring and growth plans in the country. The company is trying to gain market share amid the pandemic as companies shift their workforce to a remote working model. The company is aiming to brand itself into the preferred cloud ecosystem across enterprise and small and medium businesses, where rivals Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have a first-mover advantage. The company has recently announced a second cloud region in India to add to the eight existing regions in Asia Pacific.
Speaking on the recent appointment, Karan Bajwa, Managing Director, Google Cloud India said, “Anil has led some of the biggest technology MNCs in India and his experience will be invaluable as we continue our charter to help companies solve their most complex business and technology challenges. I look forward to working with Anil to deepen our customer engagement, expand on our strategic partnerships, and deliver advanced solutions to help companies in India accelerate their data-led innovation.”
Valluri has over 30 years of experience in the hi-tech industry in the field of sales and marketing. Over the course of his career, he has spearheaded numerous technology transitions in India for customers across banking, telecommunications, public sector and manufacturing.
An alumnus of Osmania University, Hyderabad and Stanford University, Alluri was earlier associated with NetApp where he was President of India & SAARC operations. Prior to that, he was the Entrepreneur in Residence with Artiman Ventures, a Bay-area based venture capital firm that specializes in white-space investments.
