Russell Parera , former CEO for KPMG India, is joining Price Waterhouse. He would be leading client service for select customers in India and Assurance markets and Industries initiative in the PW India Network Firms. His position would be based in Mumbai.
His joining has been confirmed by the company – "Russell Parera is joining Price Waterhouse, one of the PW India Network Firms,". In a statement Deepak Kapoor, Chaimran, PwC Network in India said – "We are delighted to have Russell join our Assurance Leadership Team and are looking forward to sharing his extensive experience. Russell’s diverse experience will greatly complement our network of audit firms in India to deliver the high quality of services to the clients".
Russell brings with him over 25 years experience with and his focus has been on the financial sector. He has been involved with clients across banks, NBFC’s, asset managers, brokers, dealers and insurance companies.
He had earlier served as the Chief Executive Officer of KPMG India Private Limited from July 1, 2006 to October 2012. Last year Richard Rekhy took over from Russell Parera as the CEO for KPMG, after an unprecedented vote of the firm’s about 150 partners. He has earlier served at KPMG offices in the Middle East and UK, prior to his return to India. He is a graduate from Mumbai University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
