Sandeep Kataria to be Global CEO for Bata Brands

Sandeep Kataria has been named as the CEO of Bata Shoe Organization, during the company’s board meeting on 30th November 2020. He follows Alexis Nasard into the role, who is stepping down after almost
five years in the role. Sandeep is the first Indian to take charge of the global role.

Sandeep joined Bata India as CEO in 2017, and has extensive leadership experience in working across geographies, backed by a good understanding of consumers and an inclusive leadership style. He has earlier been with Unilever, Yum Brands and Vodafone in India and Europe.

At Bata India Ltd, Sandeep is credited to have helped drive the Company’s consistent growth and profitability. Speaking on Kataria’s appointment, Ashwani Windlass, Chairman – Bata India Ltd, said: “I would like to congratulate Sandeep on his well-deserved promotion. Over the past few years, the India team has delivered exceptional growth in footwear volumes, revenues and profits, and has strengthened Bata’s customer measures in a highly competitive footwear market. On his elevation to the global role, Sandeep Kataria, CEO – Bata Brands, said – : “I am honoured to accept this new appointment and excited by the journey ahead of us. Sandeep is an engineer from IIT – Delhi, and a PGDMB in Marketing & Finance from XLRI Jamshedpur.
