Satish Pradhan, Tata Group HR Head to step down

Satish Pradan would be stepping down from his role as Group HR Head and Executive Vice President , Group Human Resources. Satish is regarded as one of the top HR professionals having been at the helm of the group Human Resources function of one of the strongest, and most diversified Indian business conglomerates.

Tata Group HR role, may be seen as more of an enabler role with a strong impact on the working of the group businesses. Since , most of the group businesses are quite evolved in size scale and organizational maturity the role assumes more importance. The sheer size and spread of the group is mind boggling – the group comprises over 100 operating companies in various sectors – communications and information technology, engineering, materials, services, energy, consumer products and chemicals. The group also has one of the larges global operations for an India based company and has its presence in more than 85 countries.

Satish has been in this role for about 12 years, having joined the group in 2001. Earlier Satish was was based in Britain with ICI Plc as Organization Design and Development Manager.

He has worked with Sail in the early phase of his career, subsequently he worked as head of HR at CMC, a public sector undertaking. After CMC he has worked with ICI and worked in variuous roles in India and Pacific region. He has also been with Unilever and then again at ICI’s London office.
