Saurabh Srivastava has been named the new head of Amazon Fashion India followed by the exit of Arun Sirdeshmukh from the company.
An Amazon spokesperson said to ET – “We confirm that Arun Sirdeshmukh, business head – Amazon Fashion India, has decided to move on from Amazon India. Srivastava, director, consumables and media, who is a tenured Amazonian, will lead the fashion organisation with immediate effect.”
Arun Sirdeshmukh has also served as the Co-founder and CEO of Fashionara.com, an e-fashion mall. An alumnus of IIM, Calcutta, he has also been the CEO & Director of Reliance Trends, the apparel store format of Reliance retail.
The development comes as the e-commerce giant witness consumers shifting from offline to online shopping amid the coronavirus pandemic and competition from rival companies – Myntra and Flipkart in the lifestyle sector.
Earlier, in November, Amazon India, offered “special recognition bonus” of up to Rs 6,300 to its employees in India. This payout is in line with similar payouts being offered to employees and associates in other countries.
