Exotel seals Rs 40 crore in funding from A91 Partners

Exotel, a cloud telephony platform, in a mixture of main and secondary share gross sales, has secured Rs 40 crore from A91 Partners.

The fresh funding would help the platform to witness growth in digital adoption created due to the COVID-19 health-crisis.

Earlier, Bengaluru-based Exotel has also bagged Rs 2.5 crore in seed funding led by Mumbai Angels and also had investment from Blume Ventures.

Co-founder Shivakumar Ganesan stated – “One of the things that happened around Covid times is the rapid adoption of cloud communication technology. We realised we had a much larger role to play in this new normal world. I feel that our impact, vision and charter have changed. It’s become much bigger.”

The fresh funding would be utilised to expand into newer markets and to speculate in constructing sooner and higher new merchandise.

Gautam Mago, basic accomplice at A91, stated – “As the digital transformation of India and Asia accelerates, Exotel has a wonderful opportunity to realise its vision to power customer communication for modern companies. While they started with a focus on tech companies, we have been enthused to see increased enterprise adoption both before and during the pandemic.”

Working with growing companies in Southeast Asia (Uber, Ola, Flipkart, GoJek, Lazada, Quikr, Redmart, etc.), Exotel helps them manage their customer communication over calls &; SMS. It claims that its cloud-based solution simplifies customer communication for nearly 3000 companies in India, Australia, and SEA.
