Gurugram-based Camp K12 raises $4mn in seed funding from Matrix, SAIF Partners

Camp K12, a Gurugram-based education technology startup, announced it has raised $4 million seed funding co-led by Matrix Partners and SAIF Partners.

The company has built an online tutoring platform for students in kindergarten to 12th grade, which it has rolled out in India first. The startup was initially started out as a code school, offering creative tech bootcamps on topics like Drone Programming, Android App Development, Game Programming, Full-Stack Web Development to k-12 students across the nation, and now its building web and mobile products to deliver powerful learning experiences to students online, at scale.

“Schools haven’t changed in a 100 years. Kids today learn the same things that their parents learned a generation ago, and they learn in the same factory batch-processing sort of way. At Camp K12 we’re re-imagining what school would look like if we could build from scratch today in 2020, for the next 100 years,” said Anshul Bhagi, cofounder at Camp K12.

“Camp K12‘s custom-built virtual classroom environment for small-group learning, their pedagogy, and their curriculum reflect a passion for education, deep consumer understanding, and profound technical capability. We feel this market is going to grow exponentially,” said Mukul Arora, Managing Director at SAIF Partners.

Founded by Anshul Bhagi and Sandeep Bhagi, Camp K12 focuses on connecting students with tutors online and has a focus on live learning courses for Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) subjects.
