Wingreens Farms raises Rs 125 Cr in Series B

Wingreens, a fully integrated (farm to retail) food company, has raised Rs 125 Cr in Series B funding round led by Zurich-based private equity fund responsAbility Investments AG. Other existing investor Sequoia India also participated in this round. The company was founded by Anju Srivastava in 2011.

Previously, the company has raised seed and Series A investment from Sequoia.

The company will use the investment to expand the backend farming and food processing model and further employ and empower a larger section of underprivileged women. 

The company employees over 150 people. The products are handmade by underprivileged women and are retailed through a unique sampling sales model that is a first in the market. At present, Wingreens products are available in over 140 Indian cities. The company plans to expand their distribution network to over 200 cities and more than 100,000 general trade stores in the next one year.
