Google plans to extend work from home for employees till September, 2021, according to a report by Reuters quoting New York Times.
The company is testing the idea of a ‘flexible workweek’ once it is safe for staff to return to offices physically. An email was sent by Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai to the staff stating the same, as per the report.
He wrote in the email.”We are testing a hypothesis that a flexible work model will lead to greater productivity, collaboration, and well-being.”
The Alphabet-owned company expects its employees to work three days in a week at the office and work from home in the remaining days of the week.
In the pandemic era, working from home is the new normal and Google was the pioneer in adopting this new normal. It also extended work from home till summer of 2021 in July of the current year.
