WhiteHat Jr to employ 1 lakh teachers in India

Mumbai-based WhiteHat Jr is looking to debut in Brazil and Mexico which are non-English speaking countries. It is also planning to create one lakh teaching jobs in India for women along with launching maths classes in the coming three years.

WhiteHat Jr’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Karan Bajaj said in an interview to PTI that the two-year old online coding school for young kids, has seen huge success in India, Australia, the US, New Zealand and the UK. There are 1.5 lakh paid students taking around 40,000 classes on everyday basis from 11,000 teachers, he added, with 70 per cent of the 1.5 lakh paid students in India and the remaining coming from countries such as the US, Australia and New Zealand

“We are launching maths classes next month. The company will use a one-on-one teaching model and go on to create 1,00,000 teaching jobs, all for women, in India in the next three years,” he further stated.

With the teachers teaching from their home and according to their time while earning equivalent to entry-level salaries of IIT and IIM graduates, the individualised teacher education has brought great success for the company, he said.

Founded in 2018 by Karan Bajaj, It is a live online 1:1 platform that connects kids age 5-12 to top early childhood coding teachers. It teaches kids the fundamentals of coding logic, structure and algorithmic thinking to help kids generate creative outcomes. The curriculum is designed by IIT/ IIM alum.
