Gurugram based online premium and luxury brands startup, Smytten, has raised $1.5 million in new funding round from Roots Venture. With this, the company has raised a total of $ 3 million.
This round of funding will help Smytten expand their user base, build on their infrastructure and offline reach. Smytten is not like a pure play e-commerce site, but is positioned as a brand discovery and experience platform. Facilitating product sampling and trials are some key highlights of the platform.
Smytten was founded by Swagata Sarangi and Siddhartha Nangia in 2015. The company has angel investors Rajan Anandan, MD of Google for Southeast Asia and India, as one of its earlier backers. The company also received a seed funding from industry veterans led by Rimpal Chawla, ex-MD of Credit Suisse Asset Management India and Anuj Srivastava, CEO of Livspace.
Smytten is primarily focused on premium consumers in India’s lifestyle space, and selectively curates its offerings for the target customers. The Smytten app hosts over 500 premium brands in categories like Beauty, Gentlemen’s Grooming, Food and Beverage, Smart Technology, Spas, Salons and much more!
