TCS bags ATD’s Best of the BEST Award for its talent development initiatives

Tata Consultancy Services, a global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, announced that it has been awarded Association of Talent Development’s (ATD’s) Best of the BEST Award, for the second time in a row, for strategically investing in talent development and creating an environment where everyone can learn and contribute.

ATD’s BEST Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate enterprise-wide success through employee talent development and use it as a strategic business tool to get results. Having won the award 11 times in a row, TCS has retained its position of being ATD’s Best of the BEST, one of only six such companies in the world.

“We value employees for their domain and customer-specific contextual knowledge, and continually invest in layering new technology skills on top of that, helping them stay relevant in an evolving technology landscape. Our talent development initiatives have led to industry-leading learning outcomes, and along with our progressive HR policies, resulted in best-in-class talent retention,” said Janardhan Santhanam, Global Head, Talent Development, TCS. “We are delighted to be recognized as the Best of the BEST by ATD, for the second consecutive year.”

TCS has navigated the proliferation of new technologies in recent years by investing in organic talent development initiatives at scale. Till date, over 353,000 employees have been trained in digital technologies and over 417,000 in agile methodologies. At the core of this success has been its Digital Learning Platform, which offers employees an integrated ecosystem combining virtual, physical and experiential learning infrastructure with high quality content covering over 3,000 evolving technologies and skills, available any place, any time and on any device.

Employees can try out their learning in virtual development environments which also offer a social connect so they can consult with peers. The learning experience is further enhanced through simulations, gamified learning and adaptive assessments.

Last year, TCS reimagined the fresher onboarding process with its Xplore program that helped onboard all of its 30,000 fresh campus recruits in the first two quarters of the year. This feat of unprecedented scale was accomplished by front-loading the fresher training program even before they were onboarded, using the TCS iON platform. This program provides video courses on technology topics, TCS processes and soft skills. Through live webinars, trainee candidates interact with TCS SMEs and have their questions answered.
