BBDO was named Network of the Year at the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity, considered the "Cannes" of Asia Pacific. This marks the first time that BBDO Worldwide has won the Network of the Year honor. BBDO agencies were also number one in India, New Zealand and the Philippines, with BBDO Guerrero inMakati City also ranked the third-most-awarded individual agency at Spikes Asia.
In all, twelve BBDO agencies combined to win 46 awards including the inaugural Spikes for Creative Effectiveness, which was presented to ClemengerBBDO Melbourne for its work for National Australia Bank. Awards were presented for multiple clients, including big, multinationals like Bayer, Mercedes Benz, PepsiCo and Volkswagen.
"It was terrific to see Indonesia and China winning their first Spikes metal and to see BBDO Guerrero, Clemenger BBDO, BBDO India and Colenso BBDO winning so many awards," said Andrew Robertson, President and CEO, BBDO Worldwide. "We won for big campaigns for big clients. The real deal. There were four awards for creative effectiveness and we won two of them, including the Grand Prix, and that works."
