McDonald’s Global Chief People Officer quits.

McDonald’s Global CPO, David Fairhurst has quit. His departure follows the exit of CEO Steve Easterbrook. Over the weekend, McDonald’s had announced the separation of Steve as CEO, for having a consensual relationship with an employee which was in violation of a company policy.

As per a Bloomberg report, Fairhurst’s separation was announced in an internal memo by new CEO Chris Kempczinksi.

Fairhurst, has been a company veteran and had joined McDonald’s in the UK in 2005 as a VP and then moved on to head HR for McDonald’s Europe. In 2015, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, International Human Resources and Strategy, McDonald’s Corporation, and was responsible for international Human Resources, with his responsibility spanning Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), and Latin America. He was also responsible for the global Human Resources functions of Systems, Strategy and Design.
He took over as Global CPO for McDonald’s later in 2015, after the announcement of retirement of Rich Floersch, EVP and Chief HR Officer. As Global CPO, he was reporting to former McDonald’s President and CEO Steve Easterbrook.

Prior to McDonald’s David has handled senior roles at Heinz, SmithKline Beecham and Tesco.
