The Appointments Committee of Cabinet, Government of India headed by the Prime Minister & Home Minister has approved the appointment of Ms Karuna Gopal, BJP leader and Founder President of Foundation for Futuristic Cities as Independent Director on the Board of ENGINEERS INDIA LIMITED – a Navratna PSU.
Engineers India Limited (EIL) is a global engineering consultancy focused on the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Infrastructure, Power sectors. With overseas presence in Abu Dhabi, London, Milan and Shanghai, EIL has executed 6000 assignments valued over US$ 200 Billion.
According to a statement, “Smt Karuna Gopal is an Urban Governance expert with International experience of over 27 years. She contributed to several reform projects of the country as an expert on behalf of the World Bank, DFID (UK), USAID & ADB (Asian Development Bank). Her work is at the Intersection of TECHNOLOGY | INNOVATION | FUTURE CITIES. Ms Gopal has given around 100 Keynote addresses so far globally and she has been invited to address the World Government Summit at UAE and Harvard Asia Conference at Harvard University. She is MRICS (UK) IVLP Fellow (US Department of State) and Alumna – Harvard Kennedy School of Government USA.”
She is currently National In-charge for Policy & Research, BJP women wing and has served on the National Manifesto Committee of BJP for 2019 General Elections.
