TikTok parent – ByteDance informed that Nuverse, its video games unit has agreed to acquire Mooton Technology, which is based in Shanghai.
“Through cross-team collaboration and drawing on lessons and insights from its own rapid growth, Moonton provides the strategic support needed to accelerate Nuverse’s global gaming offerings,” a statement made by ByteDance said.
ByteDance was founded in 2012 with a suite of more than a dozen products, including TikTok, Helo, and Resso, as well as platforms specific to the China market, including Toutiao, Douyin, and Xigua. ByteDance’s investors include Coatue, General Atlantic, KKR, Sequoia Capital, SIG, and Softbank.
Yiming Zhang is the founder and CEO of ByteDance. He started several ventures prior to ByteDance, including Kuxun. In 2019, He was named one of the world’s 100 most influential people by Time Magazine.
