Government to pay Productivity Linked Bonus and non-Productivity Linked Bonus
The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the payment of Productivity linked Bonus for the year 2019-2020. This will cover 16.97 lakh non-gazetted employees of commercial establishments such as Defence, Posts, Railways, ESIC, EPFO etc and the financial implication would be Rs. 2,791 crore.
Non-Productivity Linked bonus or ad-hoc Bonus given to non-gazetted employees of Central Government would have the financial implication of Rs. 946 crore covering 13.70 lakh employees. A total of 30.67 lakh employed would be benefited with this decision and the total financial outcome would be Rs 3,737 crore.
Payment of Bonus to non-gazetted employees for their productivity is usually made before the Durga Puja Season. The Cabinet also announced the productivity linked bonus and ad-hoc bonus will be disbursed immediately in one installment to non-gazetted employees.
