Infosys has been on the forefront of technology and has enabled a host of global corporations over the years. Considering the size of the organization (over 220,000 employees), the volume of intake every year (over 20,000 fresh and laterals), and their geographical spread it is imperative that an efficient management of personnel, their utilization, their readiness for growth is always the core focus for the organization. Since the company’s beginning, learning and technology has been at the core of Infosys culture.

To ensure sustainable growth and competitive advantage and to tide over ever changing business environment, the company has deployed a range of technology platforms to enable employees connect, collaborate, learn, engage with their business and stay productive.

Their scale and size necessitate all of this, and these examples from Infosys could be insightful for others who are thinking of leveraging technology for their respective businesses.

Launchpad Platform (App & Website) – Employee Onboarding

This app (platform) enables onboarding for lateral as well as fresh hires. The app focusses on a smooth onboarding experience and guides new entrants on joining formalities, helps them complete the mandatory documentation required prior to their joining the company, and provides relevant information to enable smooth transition into Infosys life. Launchpad is also accessible through its web interface.

MaQ Platform – Managerial Development

MaQ (Manager Quotient)supports managers through analytics based customized development insights. The digital platform collects crowdsourced feedback and enables managers to be more accountable. The platforms also provide an opportunity to employees to share their feedback. The platform helps evaluate managers on an ongoing basis on various managerial competencies and workplace behaviors. The data points for the various metrics are collated from employee engagement surveys as well as exit interviews.

InfyMe App – Employee Experience, Business & HR Transactions

InfyMe allows employees to conduct key business transactions on the go and from anywhere. The platform helps in booking official travel, accommodation, planning their leaves, holidays and submitting request related to their HR requirements as well as addressing some key business processes.

InfyMe app is part of “Employee Experience” program started with the goal to make all the key transactions available to employees on-the-go. The app also allows employees to keep updated on latest happenings in the organization, know about fellow employees, and access their individual communication. Employees can also access blogs by members of leadership team.

On transactions front the app enables a one point to access information regarding leaves, working hours, and work from home balance, profile details, holiday calendar etc., timesheet, pulse surveys, weekend working, comp off, accommodation, cab booking, employee directory, help desk etc.  

Lex – Learning Platform

Lex is their scalable, modular learning platform that enables employees to access learning content from anywhere, and any device. The platform has a recommendation engine that recommends appropriate learning path and content to employees based on their interest, skills, job profile. Managers can create their own learning path for the team and share it with the team. The company has over 700 courses on Lex. The platform has seen over 200,000 downloads since its launch. As per the company – the average user uses it for 30-40 mins a day and one third users also use it in their personal time. Last year, this platform was made available as an offering to other organizations under the branding Infosys Wingspan. The platform enables a culture of learning and collaboration and enables the leaders to derive strategic insights related to talent. In the updated version – learners can also interact with voice enabled learning assistant. The platform is periodically updated with range of curated content.

Compass Platform – Internal Movements

The platform was launched in 2016, and supports employees in planning their internal job movements, career transitions. The platforms showcases curated list of opportunities and employees can express interest in the opportunities. Employees can create their profile on Compass to showcase their accomplishments, endorsements and present themselves suitably for the opportunities that’s relevant for them and interests them. The platform supports Video CV’s as well, to enable employees build their portfolio. The platform also enables employees find learning opportunities and network with fellow Infoscians.

InfyTQ – Training & Hiring Fresh Talent

InfyTQ platform is one of the funnels for hiring trained and talented engineers at Infosys. The platform allows engineering students to learn and develop their skills on technologies that are relevant for the present and for the future. The platform is highly relevant for students of campuses that are not a part of Infosys campus hiring program.

Registration on the platform and enrollment to courses is free of cost to eligible students. This allows engineering students to build on their technical skills, and be industry ready upon completion of their graduate studies. Under the foundation courses section on the platform students can study – Programming Fundamentals using Python, Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures & Algorithms, and DBMS & SQL.

Students who qualify get certified by Infosys and get an opportunity to participate in an interview process for a Systems Engineer job at Infosys. For Infosys this is another source for trained talent. For students it’s an opportunity to join Infosys. The program is only open for students of B.E., B. Tech, M.E., M. Tech, M.Sc., and MCM/MCA.

Infosys Emergency Services

Infosys Emergency app, allows employees to alert their office’s emergency service help desk and personal contacts.  Employees can use this app when they face an emergency or an external threat.

IntAp – Interview Management

IntAp is a mobile app for Infoscions who are part of the hiring process in the role of an interviewer or a recruiter. The app helps capture interview scores, comments related to interview process, and collaborate to ensure a smooth flow for the hiring process.
